Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Born August 7, 1915 in Sacramento, CA and passed away on May 22, 2005. Laurice was 89 years old. She lived most of her life in Walnut Grove, CA where she was involved in the Courtland Church and Garden Club. She loved gardening and spending and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy D. Mayes, husband John P. Wiedmann, daughter Marilyn Mayes, brother in law Jim Lewis. Laurice is survived by her sisters Jeanne Lewis of Shingle Springs, Bernice Rehana and brother in law Lee Rehana of Medford, her children Tom Mayes and Barbara Buckley of Courtland, John Wiedmann, Jr. of Bakersfield and son in law Jim Buckley of Courtland, her grandchildren, Wendy Buckley Stokes, Marcee Yount, Amy Buckley, Jimmy Buckley of Lodi, Katie Buckley of Sacramento, grandson in law Mike Stokes of Lodi, 3 great grandchildren, Austin Yount, Elainee and Jacob Stokes of Lodi, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial celebration of her life, on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 2:00p.m. at the South East Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9189 East Stockton Blvd., Elk grove, CA. In lieu of flowers, tributes may be expressed to the Sacramento Children’s Home, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice in Laurice’s name.
