Laura Winona Ratzlaff

Ratzlaff, Laura W. Dec. 29, 1927 – July 17, 2004 Preceded in death by her mother and father Alfred and Nettie Tomlinson. Survived by her loving husband of 53 years Gene Ratzlaff, her children Roger Ratzlaff (Barbara) of Auburn, Phil Ratzlaff (Lynette) of Reno, NV, Barbara Garewal (Steve) of Rocklin, Bev Ratzlaff of Roseville, Steve Ratzlaff of Aptos, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Laura was a native of West Virginia. She moved to Tucson to work for Western Union where she met Gene and they were married in Lordsburg, NM on Dec. 29, 1950. They moved to Los Altos, Ca and eventually to Citrus Heights where they have made their home since 1959. Laura worked in the retail business at J.C. Penneys in Sacramento for 10 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star – Heber Chapter, Roseville CA; past president of Citrus Heights PTA, Sylvan PTA and San Juan PTA Council. She was a member and charter president of Citrus Heights Inner Wheel; she received the PTA Honorary Life & Continuing Service Award, Rotary Paul Harris Fellow Award, Inner Wheel Foundation Rose Council Award and was a member of Sacramento Republican Women, Fed. Laura and Gene are members of the Sylvan Oaks Christian Church and Sierra View Country Club. Friends are welcome for the visitation Tuesday, July 20, 2004 from 4:00 to 8:00 at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento. The service will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at East lawn Mortuary, Interment immediately to follow. Remembrances can be made in the name of Laura W.
