Kin Shaw Wong

April 22, 1933 — March 6, 2005

Passed away March 6, 2005. He was born in Shanghai, China on April 22, 1933, the cherished first-born son of the late Edwin K. and Yod Yung Wong. He was the beloved husband of Diana and father of Adrienne, Colby, Stacey and Monica Woods (husband Brian, grandson David), brother of Kin Yen (wife Evelyn), May Arndt (husband Clinton), Fay (husband Ed Genser), Yung, and Siu (husband William Jones). He immigrated to this country at the age of 12 at the end of World War II. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and later completed a B.S. degree in Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. After several years of working in the aerospace industry, he founded Capital Telephone, a well respected telecommunications firm in the Sacramento area. Following a breif retirement, he enjoyed working at the Department of General Services, Telecommunications Division. His loyal former employees and co-workers are remembered with appreciation. He loved his dogs, his travels, and pandas of the world. He enjoyed his 30 year membership and many friends in the Capital Lions Club. He was also a supporter of Public Television, Public Radio, the Sierra Club, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Nature Conservancy. He loved his family and the city of Sacramento. The family is grateful to the highly skilled staff of Kaiser Permanente, South Sacramento for their kind and sesitive care. Services will be private but those wishing to honor Kin Shaw Wong's memory may make a donation to the American Heart Association or other organization of their choice.
