James Williams was born on August 14, 1932, as the second child of eight children to the parents Murphy Williams, Sr. and Daisy Lee Preston-Williams in Louisiana.
He graduated from State High School in Louisiana. He went on to further his education in College and was a football athlete.
Blessed with a beautiful Bass, Baritone voice, he first began singing with his father, brothers and other groups.
He moved to California in 1963 where he began a long career as a Frame Switchman at Pacific Bell. In April 2000, he retired with 37 years of service.
He also became a member and lead Bass singer with gospel singing group âThe Los Angeles Angelsâ.
In the year 1968, James then met Emma Bravo while performing at the Los Angeles Job Corp. Center with the Los Angeles Angels. In August of that year, they formed a union that lasted 37 years until his homegoing.
James made many friends in his lifetime, he loved to entertain. He was a very caring man. He was best known for his personality and his kind heart.
James leaves to cherish in his memories his beloved wife of 37 years, Emma Williams, his son James Williams, Jr., his two daughters, Sharon Williams-Rodriquez and Susan Williams. His siblings, brothers Murphy Williams, Jr., Melvin Williams, and Larry Williams. Sisters, Earmer Carden and Alma âChrisâ. Son-in-law, Raul Rodriquez, Grandchildren, Morgan Elyse Rodriquez, Ryan Eloy Rodriquez, Maya Alexandria Williams, Elijah James Williams. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Although James has gone to be with the Lord, his spirit and memory will be present in each of us who's lives he has touched.
