Frances M. Elzingre

ELZINGRE, FRANCES M. Passed away in Sacramento on August 6, 2004 at the age of 93 years. She was born in the state of New Mexico in a little town called Donna Anna. She came to Sacramento, California in a train in 1919. She was a faithful member of the Arcade Baptist Church in Sacramento. She along with husband Henry Elzingre owned several cleaning businesses. During World War II she volunteered to be an ambulance driver for the Army. She also worked in the ship yards in the Bay Area as a welder building ships. She had no children, but loved her little dogs. She came from a large family of seven. She is survived by her sister Jennie Gonsolis of Sacramento and brother Fred Melendres of Concord and sister-in-laws Marie Melendres of Concord and Vivian Melendres of Sacramento, and many nieces and nephews. The main things in her life were her family and church. Friends are welcome for services on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 2:00 PM at East Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 43rd and Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
