Fay Wong, 81 years of age, Born January 12, 1923, passed away peacefully in his sleep January 8, 2005.
Born in Stockton, Fay grew up in the Newcastle/Auburn area with his 6 brothers and sisters and attended Placer High school. He proudly served with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Upon his return from the service, Fay began a career in the grocery industry, eventually CO-owning the Foothill Market at Auburn and Palm avenues in Citrus Heights. He then CO-founded Payless Builders Supply on Arden way, where Fay sold and installed thousands of home appliances in the greater Sacramento area from the early 1960s until his retirement in 1991. Upon his retirement, Fay enjoyed doing home improvement/repair projects for family and around his home in North Sacramento, watching sports on television and cooking special meals for his grandchildren.
Fay is survived by his loving son Randall, daughter in law Cara, grandchildren Vallery Wong, Lianne Will and Garrett Vessell, Stepson Courtney Tripptree and wife Leslie their children Heather, Courtney and Joshua, Stepdaughter Charlene and husband Jay their children Kim, Melissa, Cali and Jacob, Brother Chuck and wife Alice, Brother Fon and wife Alice, his Sister Helen and numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He will be missed greatly.
A wake will be held at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento on Thursday, January 13, 2005 between 6-8pm, with services being held on Friday, January 14, 2005 at 2:00 PM, also at East Lawn Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
