Eugene Erwin Lehe

LEHE, Eugene Erwin ''Johnnie'' A native of Sacramento, born on March 21, 1917. Deceased on August 24, 2004. He graduated from David Lubin Elementary School, Sacramento Senior High School and from the University of California at Berkeley in 1939, a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity. A veteran of WWII, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served for five years, achieving the rank of captain while participating in the North African and Italian campaigns. He worked as a partner in the family propane business. He was an avid duck hunter, fisherman and vegetable gardener. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elizabeth; his children, Susan (husband Frank Severs), Thomas, Jane (husband Greg Eggert) and Robert (wife Dee Dee). Also survived by his grandchildren, Joe, Laura, Michael, Consuelo, Amanda, Max, Sean and Matthew. He will be fondly remembered for his dry sense of humor and as a wonderful family man. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 27, at 10:00 AM at East lawn Memorial Park, 43rd & Foslom Blvd.
