Born Norma Jean Lewis on December 24th, 1936 to Johnnie Mae Stroud and Walter Lewis in Dodge City, KS. She moved to California in the late 1970s.
Norma Jean took pride in providing for her family. She worked several jobs throughout her life from custodial to cooking. She ended her career as a chef at the CA Department of Justice.
She was nicknamed "Bingo Jean" by her grand-daughters due to her love of playing bingo. She enjoyed going to Thunder Valley to play her favorite slot machine "Lightening" and above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Norma Jean was the mother of 7 children. IN 1986, she met and married Paul Parr. To this union she gained 3 additional children.
Norma Jean departed this life on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. She was preceded in death by her 3 siblings Mary Margaret Brown, Jerold Lee Lewis, Shirley Mae Ellis-Norris and her 2 sons James Lewis and Raymond Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory by: her husband, (siblings) Joan Bernice Williams, Barbara Ann Smitherman, Stephanie Johnson, and Eddie Brown, (children) Karen Smith, Michael Brown, Roger Brown, Jeanette Brown, and Kenneth Brown, (children by marriage) Stacy Stubbs, Brian Parr, and Farroll Rivera. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other friends and relatives.
