Norbert Phillip Pfeiffer Jr.

Norbert Phillip Pfeiffer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 22, 2025 at the age of 85. Born on April 13, 1940, in San Jose, California, Norbert was a proud fifth-generation Californian. He was raised on a ranch in Almaden Valley, where the foundations of his lifelong love of people, family, and community were formed.

Norbert attended St. Mary’s Grade School and attended Bellarmine College Preparatory. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business from San Jose State University. Following his education, Norbert served his country with pride in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve for six years.

He began his professional life as a representative in the flooring industry, eventually co-founding and operating an interior design and flooring business with his wife, Sandy, for over 35 years. Their partnership was both professional and personal, rooted in love, dedication, and shared values.

Norbert was a man of deep faith and strong community ties. He was an active member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Danville and later the Centerpointe Community Church in Roseville. He also belonged to the Kiwanis Club and SIRS of Lincoln, organizations that reflect his passion for service and connection.

Known for his extraordinary ability to connect with people, Norbert never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation and was genuinely interested in the lives of others—always eager to hear their stories. His warmth, humor, and vibrant personality made him the heart of every gathering. Whether he was at church, on the tennis court, or simply running an errand, Norbert made friends everywhere he went.

Above all, Norbert treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father and stepfather, and an adoring grandfather. He found great joy in time spent with loved ones—especially at his cherished cabin in Lake Tahoe, where countless memories were made swimming, playing tennis, laughing, and simply being together.

Norbert is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sandy Pfeiffer; his son Christian Pfeiffer (Danville, CA); daughter Courtney Pfeiffer (San Jose, CA); stepchildren Darin Meyers (Lincoln, CA), Kristin LaVella (Paulden, AZ), and Joan Sixkiller (Marty) (New Braunfels, TX); and grandchildren Sarah Pfeiffer, Zachary Pfeiffer, Lindsey Wreden, Brad Wreden, Alina Meyers, Alix Meyers, Arin Meyers, Cole Sixkiller, and Chloe Sixkiller.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norbert P. Pfeiffer Sr. and Martha Pfeiffer, as well as his sisters, Norene Wyszynski and Jeanne Kiely.

Norbert’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. His bright light lives on in the many lives he touched.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn / Sierra View Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Norbert’s honor may be made to organizations supporting Parkinson’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia research or Sutter Care Hospice of Roseville.
