Nita Colleen Nord

November 6, 1930 — April 23, 2022

Nita Colleen Nord passed away on April 23, 2022 in Antelope, California.

She was born to Clyde and Lee (Copeland) Pike in Sudan, Texas on November 6, 1930.

The family moved to Los Angeles in 1942, where she graduated from George Washington High School.  She met the love of her life, Harlin Nord and they were  married June 15, 1956 in Los Angeles.  They were blessed wih two sons and were happily married until Harlin passed away in 1985.

Colleen loved her family and God.  She was a teacher's aide for many years with the Rio Linda Union School District, and enjoyed working with the kids in her classes.  Many remember her fondly to this day. She was an active member of El Camino Baptist Church, and was employed there, as well, as the church secretary.  When she retired from there she happily devoted herself to her family.  Especially her grandchildren, whom she was so proud of and loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin, her brother, Clyde, and a sister, Saundra Kay.  She leaves behind her sons, Ken (Connie), and Steve (Dina)

7 grandchildren:  Granddaughers - Eryn (John) Watson, Erika Rector (Dave Guzman), Chrissy (John) Bennett, Emily (Alex) Pennington.  Grandsons: Kris Nord, Will (Sara) Nord, and Alex Nord and a Great Granddaughter, Taylor.

She also leaves behind her sister, Veda Allyene (Bill), and numerous nieces and nephews.
