Nathaniel Green was, to many, the hardest‐working man they had ever known. Born in Los Angeles, CA, to Leola Hawkins and Nathaniel Green Sr. His early

childhood shaped him into the strong, determined man he became. From a

young age, he carried a spirit of hustle and protection, always stepping up to

support his family. His faith was very important in his life. He believed in the

power of prayer, and that foundation stayed with him throughout his life.

He attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where he ran track. He met the

love of his life, Anita, in 1976, and they were married on November 11, 1980. Together, they built a beautiful family of seven children known as

“The Green Team” and made San Francisco their home.

Nathaniel’s love for the San Francisco 49ers stayed with him always. He

enjoyed life simply doing push-ups, playing dominoes, fishing, scratching

scratchers, and jamming to music. Above all, Nathaniel was a quiet man with a

loud presence who loved his family and sharing inspirational words. His

favorite sayings became family mottos — “The Green Team is here, oh yes, we’re here”

“1234567 Green Team”. These words now echo as part of the

legacy he leaves behind.

He passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, in Roseville, CA, surrounded by

the love of his wife Anita, children, and grandchildren.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his mother, Leola Hawkins, his father,

Nathaniel Green Sr, his sister Patricia Turner, and his brother James Green. He

is survived by his wife, Anita Green, and children Nathaniel (Little Nate),

Edward (Ed), Cogon, Sha’von (Vu), Keith (Coffee), Latanya (Mayonnaise), and

Tyerra (Baby T). Also, the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren:

Nevaeh, Casanova, Alonnah, Cameron, Edward Jr., Logan, Isabella, Noel, Alyssa,

Dash, Jazara, Amari, and Cali.

He was loved by his in‐laws, Marjorie, Pamela, Joey, Atarah, Rayvon,

colleagues, and friends. He leaves behind a legacy his family will carry forever.
