Moses T. Sanchez SR

Moses T. Sanchez, Sr. passed away on December 29, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by family in Sacramento, CA.  The oldest of nine children, he was born in Delta, Colorado, to Paul and Mary Sanchez.  

He was the dear husband of Elsie Sanchez and together they raised 10 children. He is survived by his wife Elsie, children  Alan Sanchez, Gerry Sanchez,  Ron Sanchez (Kim),  Phillip Sanchez (Debbie), Debbie Sanchez, Teddy Sanchez( Lenora), Patricia Lopez (Pete), Lori Sanchez-Nell (Patrick). He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mary Sanchez, son Moses Sanchez, Jr., daughter Irene Sanchez-Dahlberg, grandson Jerry Sanchez, grandson  Bradley Dahlberg, granddaughter Melissa Sanchez, and great-grandson Jonathan Sanchez. Moses is also survived by brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous family and friends. His wife of 74 years was his comfort and support. She will be consoled by the memories she has of Moses.  Family was important and it meant a lot to him to have them all together.  He was a true role model for the family and enjoyed telling many stories of his years living in Delta, Colorado, before moving to California. He will be truly missed! 

He achieved 35 years of service for the Federal Government Department of the Air Force.  After retirement he became  a full time grandpa several times over.  His  hobbies were playing the guitar, listening to music, gardening and maintaining a meticulous yard, and an avid reader. 

He was committed to the catholic religion and was a parishioner of St. Rose Catholic Church for over 70 years. Praying often was his daily ritual. He was fortunate to have built friendships with various Clergy past and present.
