It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred (Kathy/Baa) Kathleen Stoffan, at the age of 90, on September 11, 2025. Kathleen was born on January 16, 1935, in the village of Ingatestone, Essex County, England, a daughter of Olive and Cyril Sillett. She lived her early life in Essex and Surrey, England.
Kathleen was a beacon of light to all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was marked by great love and unwavering faith. Her 90 years of loving those around her have left deep voids in the hearts of her loved ones, but they find comfort in imagining her reunion with her late husband, Andrew Stoffan.
Kathleen met Andrew while he was stationed in England with the United States Air Force. Their love was that of fairytales, and they were married on June 18, 1955. Kathleen traveled with her husband across multiple continents, bearing three children along the way. They finally settled in California, which she would ultimately call home.
Kathleen was a lover of many things, including the ocean, Hawaii, fruit of all sorts, a good cup of coffee, desserts, fashion, and so much more. Yet, her favorite hobby was painting. Kathleen was a skilled artist and has paintings framed on the walls by many of her loved ones. She had a passion for teaching, she taught pre-school for over two decades, but especially loved teaching art, and guided pupils to become their greatest selves. She was so proud of her family and all their accomplishments, however big or small. One thing that remains true is that if you were in her life, you knew you were loved.
Kathleen’s memory is survived by her two sisters, Dorrie Connors and Jane Moroni, her three children, Cathryn Stoffan, Andrew Stoffan, and Heidi Rodriguez, her son-in-law, Keith Lawson, her daughter-in-law, Jayne Stoffan, her quasi-son-in-law, Jay Corsby, her three grandchildren Erik Hannon, Jade Stoffan, and Kayleigh Baldwin, her three great-granddaughters, Acacia, Delilah, And Daisy Baldwin. She also leaves behind a multitude of other family members spanning from California to New York, England to Australia, and more.
Kathleen will be laid to rest near her parents at East Lawn Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane Sacramento, CA, on September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a grave site service. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Cordova Neighborhood Church, 10600 Coloma Road, Rancho Cordova, CA from 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
