Michelle Lee Machado

October 5, 1975 — February 4, 2024

Herald, CA

Michelle Lee Machado passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2024.  Michelle was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on October 5, 1975.  She moved to California in 1986 graduating from Del Campo High School in 1993. She then went on to earn her degree from California State University Sacramento, with a concentration in Finance and decided to pursue a career in banking.  She later graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.  Michelle met, and married the love of her life, Doug, in 2007. The couple welcomed their son Rex in 2010, followed by Reed in 2011.
To know Michelle was to know she was always the life of the party.  She was optimistic, friendly, energetic and had a great sense of humor.  Most importantly Michelle cherished her family and friends and took every opportunity to show them how much she loved them.  She was a devoted mom and could be found in the stands cheering for her sons at football games or in the kitchen and by the Blackstone.  Michelle had a heart for adventure.  Whether it was cruising in a Corvette, Keaton or Harley or taking a flight to Boston for a Red Sox game she knew how to make memories with those she loved.  Michelle was the queen of entertaining, loved waterskiing, boat cruises and had a passion for helping others. In 2018 Michelle joined the Board for the Society for the Blind. She was dedicated to the Society, and most recently became President. She always made sure staff knew they were appreciated for their work.
Michelle was most recently the Senior Vice President, Team Leader for First Northern Bank’s Real Estate Industries Team.  She was known for her hard work, servant leadership, business and lending expertise. Michelle’s wisdom, guidance and passion for colleagues and clients was not only significant but inspiring to the success of the company.  She cherished her job and her coworkers.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Doug and sons, Rex and Reed; Brother Thomas, (Winema) of Oregon and several extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her dad, Ty Powell.
A celebration of life will be held at the S.E.S. Portuguese Hall, 10428 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, on Thursday, March 28th at 1 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution honoring Michelle at the Society for the Blind, gifts can be made online at www.societyfortheblind.org.
