Michael Strech

Sacramento, California - Michael Eugene Strech, 60, of Sacramento, California, passed away on May 5, 2024 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was a devoted husband to Laura, loving father to Erin and Liam (Stephanie), caring brother to Steve, and a cherished member of his extended family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Eugene Strech and Sandra Lee Strech.

Michael was born on September 30, 1963 in Santa Rosa, California. He attended Analy High School in Sebastopol, California and later pursued higher education at Santa Rosa Junior College and Sacramento State University, where he he earned a degree in Criminal Justice. In his professional life, Michael began his career in the insurance claims field which eventually led him to the homebuilding industry. At the California Building Industry Association he acted as Director of Risk Management and Insurance followed by Vice President of Membership Services. Michael transitioned into and excelled as the President and CEO of the North State Building Industry Association where he was a respected leader in his field and made significant contributions to the industry.

Outside of work, Michael had a passion for travel, attending concerts and coaching River Park Baseball. He was known for his love of music and adventure, always seeking new experiences and sharing them with his loved ones.

A private ceremony will be held to honor Michael's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mercy Hospice in his memory.

Michael will be remembered for his intelligence, honesty, compassion, and sense of humor, as well as his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
