Michael Claude Monroe

Michael Claude Monroe, 77, passed away on March 7, 2024, in Sacramento, CA.  Michael was born on June 16th, 1946 in Alameda County, Oakland, CA. He is survived by his wife Karen Allison and his sisters Kathleen and Judy, brother Gerald and a host of nieces and nephews.  He was one of eight siblings.  His family was of utmost importance to him. 

 Michael graduated from Bishop Armstrong High School and earned a BA from Sacramento State University.  He also served in the U.S. Army, 1966-1968.  Michael retired from a career with the State of California.

 Michael was passionate about football.  He was a premier player in high school, selected to play in the prestigious Optimist All Star Game.  Additionally, as a defensive back,  he played for Sacramento City College and earned a football scholarship to Hayward State.

 Michael will be remembered as a kind, generous and compassionate person who brought joy and love to his family and friends.

A celebration to honor Michael's life will be held in June 2024, at a time and place to be determined.
