Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend
With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Meuychow Saechao, a devoted wife, loving mother of six, proud grandmother, and cherished member of the Iu-Mien community. Meuy passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2025, at the age of 55 in Sacramento, California. Born on January 6, 1970, in Laos, Meuy lived a life full of purpose, love, and quiet strength. She was known for her big heart, her caring and nurturing spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of compassion, resilience, and grace. Meuy was the beloved wife of William Fong, and the devoted mother of Scott Saechao, Teresa Saefong, Kevin Saefong, Johnny Saefong, Savannah Saefong, and Thalia Saefong. Her role as a grandmother to Leland Saechao, Hayden Saechao, and Easton Pastor brought her immense joy, and she embraced it with the same warmth and tenderness that defined every part of her life. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds. One of Meuy’s greatest joys in life was singing. Whether at home, among friends, or during family gatherings, her voice brought comfort, joy, and a sense of peace to those around her. Singing was more than a pastime for her—it was an expression of love and connection that will echo in the hearts of her family forever. Proud of her Iu-Mien heritage, Meuy honored her culture through tradition, community, and family. She carried these values in her heart and passed them on to future generations with quiet pride and strength. To know Meuy was to know generosity, kindness, and unconditional love. Whether through her gentle smile, a comforting word, or a warm meal shared, she touched the lives of all around her. She is survived by her loving husband, her six children, her three grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply and cherish her memory forever.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
