Maurice Alphonso Waldron, Jr.

October 4, 1953 — June 18, 2022

Maurice Alphonso Waldron Jr, (Bubbles, Bubs Mo) was born October 4,1953 in Durham NC to his parents Maurice Sr. and Betty Waldron, the oldest of three sons.  Bubs was a bright, friendly, ambitious young child and an excellent athlete.   He began his early childhood education at the Harris Peary pre-school then moved to George Washington Carver School in Salam.

After integration he attended Glenvar High School, where he played basketball and was a drummer in the band.   He excelled on the basketball court and with his brother Richard (Diggs) and Robert O’Neal they produced the first winning team in the school’s history.

Bubs continued his education at both Hampton and Howard Universities before entering the US Air Force in 1974.    Prolific in Math, Mo as he became known as an airman and was trained in computer and aviation technology which allowed him to travel the world and implement key aviation equipment in aircraft.  Somehow, he still found time to show off his basketball skill on military teams throughout Europe on US bases.   Mo continued his career in aviation and computer technology as a civilian employee with the Air Force and after he retired from that career, he took his skills to the private sector.

The true apple of his eye was born on January 27,1985 Jessica Chane’ Waldron.  There was nothing in the world Bubbles enjoyed more than Chane’ the true darling of his life who passed away way too soon in 2009.

Mo met Ms Thim Tsuruda when he transferred to McClellan Airforce Base in Sacramento, they shared a long and loving relationship until his passing.  He quickly became part of their family to include Diana and Jenny, Thim’s daughters as well the large extended family.   One thing everyone knew is Grandpa Mo was loved and adored by Omari and SJ.

Maurice was preceded in death by his daughter Chane’, his father Maurice Sr and his brother Richard.

He is survived by his mother Betty Waldron, brother Wesley (Carol) and nephews Ryan, Will and Richard Waldron.   In addition to many cousins, extended family and friends from all of aspects of his life.
