Masako Swanson

Masako Swanson passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 at the age of 96. Masako was a devoted wife, predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Philip Swanson. Masako and Philip met when his Army battalion was stationed in Japan in 1951. They stayed in touch over the years after he was transferred to Europe. After a long distance courtship, they married in 1960 and Masako moved from her homeland to the United States. She became a naturalized citizen in 1963; an accomplishment she was quite proud of. She is survived by her children Don (Danya) and Linda, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Masako enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and cooking for family and friends that would visit. She cherished her time with family and will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
