MaryAnn Roemer

October 8, 1932 — May 19, 2023

It’s with broken hearts, that we share the passing of our mother, MaryAnn (Pinola) Roemer on May 19th 2023 at the age of 90.  Surrounded by all of those who adored her, she reunited with the love of her life and husband of 70 years, Oscar Roemer.  Whether she wanted it or not, our mother had it all before “having it all” was even a thing for women. She was an equal partner in the family dairy farm; an amazing cook who had the creativity and foresight to pair her homemade tacos with French fries; an excellent baker whose Pumpkin Chiffon Pie spawned family fights over who got the last slice; an avid gardener who found her happy place digging in the dirt on hands and knees; and a shrewd canasta player who had the ability to lay her entire hand down in one fell swoop. Her true passion, however, and proudest achievements were her children Danny (Judy), Karen, Debbie, and Wendy (Dave), her eight grandchildren, and her 14 great grandchildren. She embodied the very meaning of the word love and although gone, she will not be forgotten. Her love lives on in how she taught her children, every single day, to live. Our mom was our manual on how to live life.  She taught us everything about home and family, but more importantly she instilled in us the values of kindness, honesty, integrity, hard work, and laughter. After our father passed, she was surrounded by her posse of ladies in waiting who shared in her care including her daughters and daughter-in-law. And at the age of 89, she was lucky enough to find her BFF in Tamara “Juanita” who filled “Bugs” life with so much love, so many smiles, and so many laughs.  To our mom, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, we love you and we miss you; and we thank you for all of the lessons taught, the laughs shared, and the memories made of the very best of times.
