Mary Susan Yaffee

Mary Susan Yaffee passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 1, 2025. Susan was born on June 26, 1947, In Stockton, California to James Don and Mary Francis Knauss who preceded her in death. Susan is survived by her loving husband of almost 57 years, Richard Yaffee; brother Kevin Knauss; daughter Anne Johanson and son-in-law, Mark Johanson; son David Yaffee, daughter-in-law Lisa Yaffee and grandson Isaac Yaffee. Susan grew up in Stockton, Daly City and finally moved to Sacramento, California where she graduated from C.K. McClatchy High School. After falling in love with the boy next door, Susan married Richard in 1968. Soon after, they set off for college at the University of Illinois where she received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology. After college Richard and Susan made their way back to Sacramento where they started their family. Susan was a devoted grandmother to her grandson Isaac. She had a great passion for baking and cooking, enjoyed hiking, and the beauty of the outdoors. Susan will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her love of coffee, wine and sparkles.
