Mary Roberta Sinkey

With profound sadness, the family of Mary Roberta Sinkey (MacCauley), age 90, announces her passing on October 26, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

Born on October 30, 1934, to the late Robert and Ann MacCauley, Mary lived most of her life in Sacramento, CA before moving to Brentwood, CA to live with her daughters. Graduating at the top of her nursing class, she dedicated her life to her family and her career as a registered nurse. She also served as a missionary nurse on 3 separate tours in the countries of Sierra Leone and Niger. She was a member of Golden Hills Community Church and before her illness, was an active member in the Prime Timers and Women’s Bible Study groups.

Mary is survived by her children, Charles Sinkey Jr. (Diane), Roberta Sinkey (David) and Amy Williams; her grandchildren, Ashley, Charles III, Joseph, Luke, Jordyn and Taylor; seven great grandchildren and her sister, Lyna Myers.

A small graveside burial service will be held at East Lawn, Folsom Blvd, Sacramento on Tuesday, November 18th, at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s name to A Jesus Mission to support her grandson Joseph’s, family missionary service.
