Maria Elena Medrano âCuataâ was the oldest of twins, born November 15, 1961, in San Bernardino, California. Although orphaned at the age of 3 she loved her brothers and sisters and loved being raised in San Francisco. Cuata was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, & friend. She was the life of the party, often being the 1st on the dance floor, with a drink.
While in high school, Cuata met Sergio and after 42 years of marriage, raised 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Her primary values were: respect, unconditional love, & togetherness. Despite having very little income, Cuata made sure each of her kids had birthday parties, completed catechism, attended school trips, visited amusement parks, and most importantly visited family in Mexico, LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.
Cuata also valued education, as she insisted that all of her kids attend and finish college. She loved knowing that 100% of her kids got a 4-year degree. Cuata required that her kids stick together in life & be able to take care of themselves.
Other passions included going to the movies while sneaking in candy, sodas, and even kids, playing board games, Candy Crush & Word Feud, organizing and attending parties.
Despite the many obstacles Cuata endured early in life, she was able to overcome and live a happy & rewarding life. Cuata passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on her family estate in Elverta, California on Saturday, November 6, 2021. We love you MA!
