Margaret "Peggy" Ellen Ogness

In loving Memory of Margaret “Peggy” Ellen Ogness - Age 74, of North Highlands passed away January 3, 2026. She was born December 7, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio. She married Richard Arther Ogness, her high school sweetheart on July 24, 1971 in Dayton, Ohio. They eventually settled in Sacramento.

She worked for the State of California for 30 years. She was a member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She was an active chapter member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was an artist, seamstress, high school gymnast and cheerleader, equestrian riding dressage and show jumper, camper, avid reader and an Ohio State football fan. She loved dogs, European travel, Disneyland, americana, giving gifts, the performing arts, musical concerts, genealogy, long road trips and her country.

Preceded in death by her husband Richard Ogness and brother Ross Wellings. Survivors include sister Barbara Wellings, daughter Sarah Thomason and husband Ash Thomason, her two grandchildren Julie Ewert and Brianna Ewert and two step-grandchildren Alexander Thomason and Jack Thomason.

Graveside Services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 1 p.m. at East Lawn Sierra Hills, 5757 Greenback Lane Sacramento, CA.
