Lyndon Ricardo Pommells, age 93, of Sacramento, California passed away on May 26th, 2026. He was born on March 16, 1933 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to Alice Masters and Emile Lyndon Pommells. He was the oldest child of five: Lyndon, Carlos, Elaine, Gary and Claudette. He grew up in Ithaca, New York. After graduating from high school, Lyndon joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Shangri-la aircraft carrier. After the Navy, he attended the New York State Ranger School in Wanakena. Following completion of this program, he took to heart, “Go west young men, Go west!” This brought him to California.
California is where he built a home, a family, and a career with the Water Resources Department for the State of California. Lyndon earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate from the California State University, Sacramento. He later became a licensed Real Estate Broker. Lyndon was quite accomplished. He will be remembered for his adventurous personality that took him all over the world. His most beloved interests included fly fishing, camping, canoeing and fishing from his float tube in scenic lakes and rivers. He also enjoyed numerous RV trips across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Closer to home, Lyndon was an avid golfer, loved to bowl and go roller skating. He also loved a good game of pool. Others will remember Lyndon as quite a flirtatious individual with a witty personality. He is survived by his three daughters (the three R’s): Renee, Rhonda, and Roslyn or affectionately known as Big Sis, Middle Sis and Little Sis. He also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 19th from 1:30-3:30 at The Carlton Assisted Living Atrium at 1071 Fulton Avenue, in Sacramento
