Luz Maria Rosa Quintana

Peacefully and surrounded by family, Luz Maria Rosa Quintana gained her angel wings on August 4, 2022. Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on February 15, 1928, she spent 94 wonderful years spreading joy to any and all around her. As a teenager, she made her way to the United States where she lived in New York, but ultimately made the move to California with her family. She enjoyed listening to music while dancing up a storm, playing slot machines at casinos, and cooking amazing meals that fed the soul. Most of her time was spent taking care of her family, her friends, and her community.

Luz Maria was a kind, loving, supportive, caring, and giving person. She was truly a force of nature, determined to provide for her family and give them the life she felt they deserved. She was someone that always put the needs of her family before her own. Her family meant more to her than anything else in the world.

She was a strong woman of faith who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Her knowledge and guidance was the foundation of her family. She was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Luz Maria Rosa Quintana, you have been a beacon of strength for your family for decades, you have taught them well, and your work here is done. You have earned the right to rest in peace. It is our turn to shine your light on the rest of the world. You will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. You are fiercely loved!

She is survived by her children: Victor Jr. (Millie), Alex (Debbie), Nanci (Ron), Robert; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and as well as numerous relatives and friends.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento for their care and compassion.

A Visitation and Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at East Lawn Memorial 9189 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Parish at 9961 Elk Grove Florin Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. An interment will follow at 2:45 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery 1500 Mission Rd, Colma, CA 94014.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Luz Maria Rosa Quintana.
