Linda Raye McLachlan

Linda Raye McLachlan, 75, of Elk Grove CA., passed away on the early morning of October 23, 2024. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and will be greatly missed. 

Linda was born on February 28, 1949 to Robert and Ramona Knuth in Salem, OR. She moved with her family to Sacramento, CA., in 1951 and after Linda graduated from Hiram Johnson Highschool in 1967, she went on to study at American River College, taking enjoyment in such classes as Interior Design. 

After college, She started her first job at McClellan Airforce Base as a tool clerk, from there she began her 35 plus year career at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District where early on she held positions with the SMUD employee union, actively participated in Toastmaster International activities and provided strong and caring leadership as a Supervisor in Customer Service. 

 In 1970, Linda met Richard through mutual friends on a blind dinner date in Sacramento. They hit it off immensely and Linda and Richard went on to have two children, Richard and Heather, and enjoy 53 wonderful years of marriage. 

In 2004, Linda retired and spent her time traveling and enjoying life with her family and grandchildren and pets Sandy and Sadie. 

Linda was predeceased by her mother and father Ramona and Robert Knuth and her sister Toni Knuth. She is survived by her loving husband Richard L. McLachlan, her son Richard McLachlan, her Daughter and son in law Heather and Jess Wilson, and her grandchildren Layne and Evan Wilson, her niece and great niece Wendy and Amber Gallimore and many aunts and cousins who knew and loved her. 

Her family has chosen to hold a private memorial. 

She will be laid to rest at East Lawn Cemetery in Elk Grove, in the Eagle Niche near her loving parents Bob and Mona, and will live on in our hearts forever.
