Linda M. Bergstrand-Webb

December 17, 1952 — October 17, 2022

Linda Bergstrand-Webb, 69, of Sacramento, CA passed away on October 17th, 2022.

Linda was born on December 17th, 1952 to Lew and Alice Johnson in Grand Island, NE. Two years later the Johnson family relocated to Ventura, CA. After graduation from Ventura High School in 1971, Linda went on to pursue her passion and study architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, graduating as one of four women in a class of over 250 in 1976.

After graduation, Linda began her career as a Naval Engineer for John J. McMullen Associates, contributing to the modernization of the U.S. Navy’s battleships, to include combat/weapon systems and land based Naval facilities.

In 1981, Linda married Jeffrey Bergstrand in Ventura, CA. In 1984, their only child, Jonathan, was born. In 1989, Linda, Jeffrey and Jonathan relocated to Sacramento, CA. Linda began working for RMB Architects and worked her way up the ladder to eventually become a Project Manager-Architect. The love of her life, Jeffrey, and Linda would remain married until his passing in 1995 following a battle with cancer.

In 2004, Linda achieved her long-term goal by receiving her license as an Architect. To celebrate this milestone, she returned to her love of sports cars and purchased a blue Corvette, which she would take with family members on trips from Canada to Arizona and everywhere in between. For over 20 years, she designed and coordinated the build of many commercial projects which included Applebee’s Restaurants, Chevron Service Stations, IHOP and Krispy Kreme donut shops along many other commercial projects.

Linda was an extremely dedicated mother, supporting Jonathan through schools and sports. Their unique Mother’s Day outings to race go-karts will be long remembered. In 2002, Linda accompanied Jonathan to the U.S. Naval Academy to help start his career as a Naval Officer.

In 2006, Linda married Herman “Ed” Webb in Sacramento, CA. They met through their bible study group at Sun Grove Community Church and immediately hit it off, deciding to marry after a few dates. Linda chose to retire early in 2014 to spend time with her husband and help him battle health concerns. Linda and Ed would remain married until his passing in 2017.

Linda loved her family and sports cars. She was also passionate about design in every facet of the term. She took great pride in her work as a Naval Engineer and Architect, helping to bring design dreams to reality. Linda loved baking and sewing, regularly making cookies and costumes for family members. Her artistry knew no bounds, as she even took on the difficult task of baking and decorating a three-tiered wedding cake for her niece. We will miss her greatly.

She will be remembered by her friends and relatives for her kindness, and leaves behind feelings of joy and love that touched all people she met; she will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She was extremely thankful for her bible study group that supported her tremendously through the years. Linda was predeceased by her father, Lew Johnson, mother, Alice Johnson, and her brother, Steven Johnson. She is survived by her son, Jonathan (Devon) Bergstrand, grandchildren Jasper and Alice, sisters Cindy (Michael) Tiffany, Karen (Buzz) Little, Paula (Rad) Coulter, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
