Leona Louise Hess

LEONA LONGEST HESS, 84, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON MAY 29, 2026, WITH HER LOVING FAMILY BY HER SIDE.

Born on March 27, 1942, in San Diego, Leona was the daughter of James and Anna Marie Longest. She graduated from Rosary High School in San Diego. Leona was the business owner of Bobs’ Club, the oldest business in Elk Grove for 34 years. She resided by Lake Camanche for the last 23 years.

Leona was known for her love of gardening and spending time with her family. Her love shaped the lives for those who knew her, and her memory will be with us forever. She is survived by sister Ann Longest-Groth; her children, Allan Veto II and Denise McCune; her 8 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and extended family. She was preceded in death by James Longest, Anna Marie Longest, and her sister, Judy LaBerge.

A memorial service will be held on March 27, 2027. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a U.C. Davis Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center in Leona’s memory.

Leona will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
