In Loving Memory of Lena Amaris Clark-Shariah

Lena Amaris Clark-Shariah was born on February 10, 2004, in Sacramento, California,(Kaiser-South Sacramento) and her light shone brightly throughout her all-too-brief life. On October 31, 2023, we said our tearful goodbyes to a beloved daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and friend. Lena's passing has left a void in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her that cannot be filled.

Lena was a lifelong resident of Sacramento. She began her educational journey at Capital Christian Elementary School, where she showed a natural aptitude for creativity and art. Her artistic talents continued to flourish as she progressed through Albert Einstein Middle School and Rosemont High School. As a participant in band, playing wind instruments, clarinet and flute, she continued to pursue her passions as a dedicated student at American River College.

Beyond her artistic endeavors, Lena was a remarkable athlete from her early years. She started her track and field journey in junior high and continued to excel throughout high school. Lena's speed and focus were immeasurable, earning her numerous first and second-place medals in the 4x400, 100-meter, and 200-meter races. Her accomplishments on the track were a testament to her relentless work ethic and unwavering spirit.

Lena is survived by her parents, Monica Clark Johnson and Ernest Perry Johnson Jr. Her loving brother, Lars Devon Cheatham (Justine), who shared a deep bond with Lena. Her uncle and aunt, Tony and Monique Clark, and cousin, Teri Clark. Her grandparents, Lucius Sonny Clark, Ernest Perry Johnson Sr. (Gwen), and Virginia Perry, also mourn her loss. Lena was preceded in death by her biological father, DaRand Shariah, and her grandmother, Wilma Faye Clark. Lena was truly blessed to be surrounded by a vast and loving family, including a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who held her dear to their hearts.

Lena's magnetic personality and warm spirit attracted a wide circle of friends who became like family. Her teachers, too, were captivated by her enthusiasm for life and her dedication to her studies. Lena had a unique ability to brighten the lives of everyone she encountered, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.

Though her time on this Earth was tragically cut short, her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
