Lee Williams

Lee E. Williams, 79, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on June 8, 2023 in Sacramento, CA.

Funeral services will be held June 14, 2023, at 11:00am.  Service will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA. 95819.  There will be a viewing available at 10:00am same location.  Lee will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Park. 

Lee E. Williams was born in Dinwiddie, VA to Richard and Martha Ann Williams on November 15, 1943.  Lee graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1962. Upon graduation, Lee joined the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of TSGT before being selected to attend the Officer Candidate School and becoming a Second Lieutenant in 1975.  Lee retired from the military obtaining the rank of Captain in 1985 and relocated to Sacramento, CA.  After retiring Lee worked for the State of California as an Auditor for over 15+ years and received many honors.  Lee was involved in the community and touched the lives of numerous individuals.
Lee Williams was married to Wilma Gunzel on February 2, 1966, while stationed in Germany.  Wilma passed away on June 11, 1991 and was laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Park.  
Lee E. Williams is survived by his adopted children, Richard, Patty, Karl and Eugene, seven grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin, Whitney, Kristopher, Anthony, Dion and Christopher and four great grandchildren, Harmony, Ivy, Jacob, and Sarai.
Lee E. Williams is survived by his siblings, Richard, John, Edith, Thelma, Shirley, Diane and Gladys. Lee was preceded in death by his parents Richard & Martha Ann Williams and his sister Virginia.  
In lieu of sending flowers the family requests that donations be sent to either one of Lee’s favorite two favorite charities the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The family of Lee E. Williams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Mather VA Hospital, Kaiser Permanente Hospital, AccentCare and the numerous specialty doctors, nurses, social workers and personal caregivers for the care they provided to Lee.
