Lee Nguyen, aged 62, passed away peacefully after his year long battle with lymphoma.

Born to Huy Quang Nguyen and Hoi Thi Pham on March 15th, 1960 in Saigon, Vietnam. Lee was among the many refugees who escaped the Vietnam war. As the eldest son of 7, he risked his life to secure a better life for his family. His new beginning started in San Jose, where he married the love of his life, started a family, and most recently retired in Elk Grove.

Lee was an extraordinary example of someone who lived the American dream. He was hardworking, always willing to learn, and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do or fix! He earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at San Jose State University.

Lee was truly selfless and a simple man who never asked for much. Although gifted new clothes every Christmas, he remained content with his same old clothes. He enjoyed running, biking and tinkering with cars. He loved to eat rice, hot pot, pho, bun rieu, canh chua and Tung Kee. Among his love for Vietnamese food, he also really enjoyed In N Out.

Lee is survived by his wife Cong, daughter Tina, son-in-law Va and 3 month old grandson Alvy.

He is missed every day and will forever live on in our hearts. As a friend and long time colleague said, “Lee the Lion never dies. Souls like these come to inspire and be remembered over generations.”

Please join us in honoring and celebrating his life.
