Larry Scaramella was born in Fort Bragg, CA on November 16, 1949 and grew up in Point Arena, just down the Mendocino County coast. He graduated from Point Arena High School in 1967. After leaving the coast he attended college at SRJC in Santa Rosa, and eventually graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Business. After finishing college, he served in the Army for 3 years in Texas and Alaska. Upon his return from the Army, he began working in Santa Rosa, for the State of California, in the Employment Development Department (EDD). His work with the EDD took him from Santa Rosa, to Modesto, and then to the Sacramento area where he eventually ended his 34-year career upon his retirement. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with close friends who were also co-workers from his years working at the EDD, and those he met in his retirement community. He enjoyed being a Block Captain for his community, and supported causes such as the Run 4 Independence which benefited the Elk Grove Food Bank. He will be missed. Larry is survived by his sister, Geri Bolin and his brother Joe Scaramella, both of Sonoma County, as well as nephews Scott Bolin, Dominic Scaramella, and niece Torre Trujillo.
