Lavinia Hopoi

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Lavinia Finau Vaka Hopoi Kula.

Lavinia was born in Tonga on October 17, 1947, where she grew up and married (now deceased) Fine Kula in 1966.

They had 3 sons while living in Tonga. Lavinia and Fine left Tonga (to New Zealand) in 1972 to build a better life for their family which they successfully did, having a further 4 children and purchasing their first home December 1976 where they celebrated Christmas.

Lavinia left New Zealand 1993 moving to the United States and started a caregiving career, she worked right up to the day she passed away. Lavinia is a hard-working woman; she is a dedicated and loyal church member. Lavinia was a very loving, devoted, and present Mother, sister, aunty, friend, nana, great and great great nana.
