Larry Wong

May 24, 1949 — July 3, 2021

Larry Wong, 72, of Sacramento, California entered into eternal peace on July 3, 2021 while surrounded by his family. He was born on May 24, 1949, in Sacramento, California to Shee Fong and Bo Gar Wong. He was the second born of six children and became the man of the house when he lost his father at the age of twenty. Larry fell in love with Sue after they met at his place of work, Farmer’s Market. He was so nervous when meeting Sue that he dropped her change while working the register. From this union, they had two daughters: Tiava and Karis.

Larry devoted himself to his work and was a phenomenal produce clerk. Throughout his life, he was employed by Farmer’s Market, Century Market, Harvest Foods, Pak n’ Save, and Raley’s. He enjoyed a simple life of happiness and his free time. Larry was passionate about watching action movies at the theaters, cars, sports, the latest craze in Happy Meal Toys, shopping for great deals at the grocery stores, and visiting the casinos. Larry fueled his life by doing God’s work. He helped out those in need, and his compassion was endless. He dedicated himself to his family and friends. He took great pride in his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. Loyalty and dedication are characteristics that describe Larry. What Larry brought to this world is priceless. His love and support carried the family. He always put his family first and was a dedicated father. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Larry left an imprint of life lessons for all of us. For his wife…for his daughters…for his grandchildren…for his brothers and sisters…Always be there for each other.

Larry is survived his wife, Sue; two daughters, Tiava Lee and Karis (Fredric) Vanzant; three grandchildren, Kayden Vanzant, Jaylen Vanzant, and Alaia Vanzant; his mother, Shee Fong Wong; his siblings, Jeannie (Randy) Tom, Gary (Yasuko) Wong, Danny (Janine) Wong, Elaine (Mel) Tom, and Jerry Wong; Six nieces, Nicole (Tom) Rauzi, Danielle Wong, Brittney Wong, Stephanie Tom, Cynthia Tom, and Jacqueline Tom; three nephews, Chris Tom, Spencer (Angela) Tom, and Steven Tom. Larry will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
