Kennie Alan Wong, lovingly known as "Kdub," passed away on February 25, 2025, in Sacramento, California, at the age of 70.
Born on April 30, 1954, in Sacramento, Kennie pursued a lifelong passion for learning. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biophysics from UC Berkeley before furthering his education in Accounting at California State University, Sacramento. His academic pursuits reflected his sharp intellect and dedication to personal growth.
For over 30 years, Kennie was the proud owner of Central Market in Walnut Grove. Through hard work and commitment, he built more than just a business-he created a gathering place for the community. His employees respected him not only as a leader but also as a kind and generous mentor who valued their contributions. His presence at the market was a cornerstone of daily life for many, and his impact will be felt for years to come.
Beyond his professional life, Kennie had a deep love for reading and baking. Whether he was immersed in a good book or perfecting a new recipe, he found joy in these simple pleasures. A devoted dog lover, he shared an undeniable bond with his canine companions, who brought him endless happiness.
Kennie will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, and unwavering kindness. His quick wit and infectious sense of humor could brighten any room-he had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh and lift their spirits.
