FONG, Kay J. Feb 3, 1930 - May 18, 2024 Age 94
Kay J. Fong passed away in Sacramento, California on May 18, 2024 at the age of 94. Born in China. Resident of Sacramento for 92 years. Kay served in the Navy from 1951 to 1956 during the Korean War. For most of his career, he was a graphic artist for the State of California, Commission for Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). He retired from the State in 1995.
At home, Kay was a handyman who loved to build and fix things for many family and friends. Always willing to help and teach. Very patient and kind. He loved woodworking, drawing, gardening, and traveling. He had countless stories of his travels abroad and in the U.S. while in the Navy and with his wife and family. He greatly appreciated nature and the world in which we live.
Kay is survived and fondly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Fong; their three children and son-in-laws, Deborah Fong/Doug Finch, Stacey Sanchez/John Sanchez, and Kelly Fong; and their two grandchildren, Presten Sanchez and Joshua Sanchez.
