Katsuhiko Thomas Onishi

Katsuhiko Thomas Onishi was born on June 12, 1944, in Rivers, Arizona, to Katsuto and Tatsu Onishi.  In 1964, he married the love of his life, Mieko Anne Yashiro.  From 1966 to 1968, Tom served in the US Navy with the Mobile Construction Battalion (The SeaBees) in Vietnam.  After living in Pasadena, San Luis Obispo, Honolulu, and the Bay Area, he and Anne eventually settled in Antelope, California, with their only son, Christopher.

Shortly after suffering a stroke, Tom Onishi peacefully passed away on November 22, 2023, at the age of 79.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mieko Anne; son, Christopher (Jaclyn); and grandsons, Andrew and Roman.    

A gravesite service will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Monday, December 11, 2023.  He will be laid to rest with full military honors.
