Kathy Ann Schmidt

Kathy was born on July 7, 1960 to Dr. Leland and Bernice Schmidt in Elk Grove, CA. After Kathy graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1978, she went on to study psychology at Sacramento State College.
After graduating with a master’s degree in psychology, Kathy started a beloved career in counseling. Kathy worked in private practice and at First Baptist Church as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Kathy’s career transitioned to working as a school counselor at various area elementaries, such as Arcohe Elementary and most recently at Park Avenue Elementary.
Kathy spent her time creating memories with her nieces and nephews, travelling with family, caring for her garden, bike riding, and playing tennis.
Kathy was predeceased by her father, Dr. Leland Schmidt. She is survived by her mother, Bernice Schmidt, sister Karen V. Schmidt-Provencher (Charles), brother Kevin L. Schmidt (Julee), nine nieces and nephews, and a great-nephew expected in July.
A celebration of life will be held at Point Pleasant United Methodist Church on May 25, 2024 at 11am: 3329 Point Pleasant Rd., Elk Grove, CA 95757.
