Katherine Baldo Balanza also known as Jama, Kat, or Kathie, was born on December 12th,1950 in Stockton, California, passed away on May 3rd, 2026 in Rancho Cordova, California.
She is survived by her husband, Porter Balanza Sr.; her children, Porter Balanza Jr. and Melani Garretson; her brothers, Ronald Reese and Albert Reese; her grandchildren, Rufino Balanza, Keoni Kirkland, and Joshua Kirkland; and her greatgrandson, Jae Kirkland.
Katherine had thirty years of service in United States Government, ten years in the United States Air Force Reserve, and five years as a small business owner in flower arranging and sales.
She was passionate about her family, her friends, traveling and the hula (Native Hawaiian Dancing).
She will be deeply missed.
