Karen Kay Hallock was born in Norfolk, Nebraska and raised on a farm and attended elementary and high school in Hoskins, Nebraska. She passed away on August 17, 2024 at age 84. After one year at Norfolk Junior College, she worked as a clerk in local lumber yard and then moved to Omaha where she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

She was married to Jerald (Jerry) Hallock from Springview, Nebraska in Omaha in 1966. They subsequently lived in Baltimore, Maryland and Camp Hill, Pennsylvania before moving to Fair Oaks, California and then to Woodland, California. She worked for Yolo County as clerk in the Purchasing and Supply department until retirement when she and her husband moved to Heritage Park, an active adult community in north Sacramento. Karen enjoyed playing cards and board games with friends and family and enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She had been to all 50 states (Hawaii is her favorite) and foreign countries including Australia, New Zealand, many European and Scandinavian countries. Also, several ocean cruises.

Karen's pride and joy are her 4 grandsons: Jake Crosby, JD Venosdel, Owen Crosby, and Brett Venosdel. She enjoyed them immensely from the day they were born and particularly when attending their baseball games.

Besides her husband and grandsons, she is survived by daughter Cynthia (Paul) Venosdel of Eagle, Idaho and Patricia (Scott) Crosby of Fair Oaks, California.

Funeral services and burial will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California on Monday September 23, 2024 at 9:30am. Any memorials to givers favorite charity.
