June Sharon Foe

May 9, 1935 — July 23, 2025

Sacramento

June Sharon Foe, 90, passed away peacefully in Sacramento, California on July 23, 2025 after a brief illness. Born on May 9, 1935 in Dryden Township, Michigan, she was the fourth child of Frank and Edith Foe, following brothers Ward, Clinton, and sister Frances, who died in childhood. After graduating from Michigan State University in 1957, June moved to Carmel, California with two of her college friends, and eventually settled in Salinas, where she spent over six decades of her life. She worked for many years as an office manager for Dr. Norman Andresen and more recently at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital as a medical transcriptionist.

A strong and independent woman who lived alone for most of her life, Aunt June combined an adventurous personality with a lifelong affinity for her home state, dutifully returning each year to visit family and friends. An avid skier in her youth, she took up bowling in her later years and became a mainstay in her local senior league. She always enjoyed a good mystery or game of cards, and was a skilled cross-stitcher who created intricate designs celebrating family birthdays and other special occasions. She also had a deep interest in genealogy, compiling volumes of family history that she researched in part through visits to the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City or on overseas trips to England and Germany.

Aunt June was a one-of-a-kind character who lived life on her own terms and was never afraid to speak her mind. This could be by turns either forthright or offensive, but she was always her genuine self. Her lively spirit and warm presence will be missed by family and friends alike, particularly around the holidays. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews
