Joyce Norvell

Barbara Joyce Norvell, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2023 with family at her bedside.  Joyce was 90 years old.  She was born in San Francisco, California on October 6, 1932.  Joyce was raised in Texas and lived most of her married life in Clovis, New Mexico.  Her last ten years were in Sacramento, CA near her son, Tom and his family.
Joyce was a longtime member of the Highland Baptist Church of Clovis, NM.  She spent 37 years working as a cashier for the Clovis Livestock Auction of Clovis, NM, retiring in December of 2002.
Joyce was married to Thomas Norvell for over 60 years until his passing in 2011.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Tamplen who passed in 2019; her brother, Sidney Grant; and niece, Sheila Jackson Doty.

Joyce is survived by: sons, Tom Norvell of Elk Grove, CA and Jerry Norvell of Dallas, TX; four grandsons, Tommy Norvell (Dawn) of Elk Grove, CA, Carey Norvell (Meaghan) of Oregon City, OR, Dustin Tamplen and Drew Tamplen of McKinney, TX; great-granddaughters, Teiran and Kailah Norvell, and four step-great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Lorenzo, Savanah and Havilah; and sister, June Smith of Littlefield, TX.  Also survived by extended family, Alica Norvell, Micheal Tamplen and Craig Peterson.  Beloved aunt of Delbert and Terry Jackson and their families. 

Joyce will be interred next to her husband in the Levelland Cemetery in Levelland, Texas.  A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date at the Levelland Cemetery.
