Joyce Avico

July 31, 1959 – May 22, 2022

Joyce was born in San Francisco on July 31^st, 1959 joining the Avico family as the second child of Renato and Virginia Avico. The Avico’s resided in Millbrae, where she spent her childhood at the Meadows pool, making lifelong friends and competing regularly on the Millbrae Otters swim team.  In 1977, she graduated from Capuchino High School and soon started a career in banking. In 1987, she welcomed her only child, Jennifer Meyer with her then husband, Gregory Meyer. Six years later, Joyce and Jennifer moved to the Greater Sacramento area where she purchased her first home, graduated with her Bachelors in Accounting and watched her daughter grow.  In January of 2022, she welcomed the birth of her first and only grandchild, Maxwell, one of the great loves of her life. Joyce Avico passed away on May 22, 2022 unexpectedly, at the age of 62.  Through her life, Joyce enjoyed countless trips abroad to Europe, hours of play with her pups and spending time with her daughter.  Joyce is survived by her brother, Bruce Avico, daughter, Jennifer Meyer and grandson, Maxwell Openshaw. A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 14^th, at East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento (4300 Folsom Blvd.).
