Joseph "Joe" Anglesio Jr.

October 9, 1943 — May 2, 2022

JOSEPH “JOE” ANGLESIO JR, 78, of Roseville CA passed away on the morning of May 2, 2022 with family by his side.

Joe fought a tough battle of his illnesses and is now I’m heaven surrounded by all his loved ones that passed before him.

Born to Joseph P SR and Amy Anglesio in Sacramento, CA. Joe  and his family moved to Roseville when he was 4 years old. He attended Roseville High School and graduated, married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Turner on March 1st, 1964. They had two children, Joseph P Anglesio III and Anna Marie Anglesio.

Joe went to work for the southern pacific railroad after graduation and remained there for 39 years. He was a machinist, (full of good stories.) He worked on the snowplows and was the Vice President of the railroad union. Joe always stood up for what was right and the rights of others as well. He was not silent about it, he would tell friends and family that if they ever wanted to work at the railroad, they should refrain from using his name as a reference if they wanted to be hired. He was a force to be reckoned with and proud to be working there. He made some very special, lifetime friends there as well.

Joe even helped out working double shifts during the bombing incidents on April 29th, 1973 once he made sure his family was safe. Joe was there for the change of Southern Pacific to Union Pacific.

Joe and Sharon eventually parted ways and he remarried his late wife, Wanda Jean Mountain “Jeanie.” Jeanie had two children from a previous marriage, Bucky and Janie Mountain.

Jeanie became ill with Alzheimer’s and joe took care of her until she passed. He wanted to be the one to care for her and refused to put her in any other kind of home. He did this until she passed November 9th, 2019.

Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger days which he spent a lot of time doing. In his later years, he began to fish much more, especially catching Marlin at the Buena Vista Resort in Chula Vista, California. He has 4 snouts proudly displayed on his trophy wall alongside many pictures of the Marlins he caught, as well as many good stories to match.

Joe touched people everywhere he went and always had a smile for you. Wether it was Bel Air to get his groceries and lotto, his doctors offices, restaurants, the bank or Rite Aid for his medications. Joe knew and talked to everyone, they just loved him wherever he went.

The nurses at Sutter Roseville who got to now him throughout his hospital stays, came to adore him during his care there.

On the heart breaking day he left us, one nurse in particular could not bring herself to come into the room as she was so tearful with news of his upcoming passing. Many of the nurses shared tears with us as we were there in his final days.  He was truly loved by all who knew him and he touched many lives.

Joe was the most loving, caring and funny guy who was also quite the prankster too.

Always telling jokes and stories about the pranks he pulled on his buddies. He accomplished a lot and had fun in his years.

He will be truly missed!
