Jorge Alvaro Galvis Garcia

Sunday July 30, 2023 at 12:11 am will forever be remembered as the moment Jorge Alvaro Galvis Garcia was called home by his Creator to claim the promise of eternal life in His heavenly kingdom. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring brother, a wonderful son, a true friend to many, and a beloved child of God. His boundless love for family and friends, unwavering passion for Bay Area and Colombian sports, and innate desire to lend a helping hand defined the essence of his being. As we try to cope with our deep sense of loss and struggle with the multitude of emotions we are experiencing, we are extremely grateful for the 77 years and 188 days of a life well-lived. He was instrumental in shaping the very core of who we are in the Galvis Family.
 
On this somber occasion, we extend an invitation to all those who wish to pay their respects and bid farewell to our patriarch—El Bebe, Gordis, Papi, Alvarin, Jorgito, Amigo, Compadre. Let us celebrate the memories and cherish the great moments we had with him. In honor of his love for Bay Area and Colombian sports, we would like to request everyone to wear a 49ers, Giants, Warriors, Millionarios, or Colombian jersey or shirt.
 
He is survived by his wife of 45 years—Sonia; 5 children—Jorge Jr (spouse Erika), Monica, George (spouse Catalina), Alvaro (spouse Iris), Raul (spouse Paola); 4 grandchildren—Sebastian, Mikaela, Ayacaxtli, Quillari; and 1 great grandchild—Mika Jr.
