John William Hall passed away at his Elk Grove home on August 20th, 2021 after suffering a
stroke at the age of 85. He was surrounded by his loving family and caregivers at the time of
his passing.
John was born in Sacramento, California on August 15, 1936 to Sidney and Mary Hall. He
attended school in Sacramento and graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He
married Gail Ann Daniels in 1956 and they moved to Southern California where they began
their family and celebrated the birth of their son Scott in 1958, their daughter Cindy in 1960
and their daughter Kathleen in 1963.
John began his career in the defense industry with Bunker Ramo Corp. before moving to the
health care industry with Space Labs Industries. His business career allowed him to travel
extensively throughout the world including locations such as Southeast Asia and Europe as
well as traveling throughout North America and eventually taking his family with him on a two
year assignment to the Washington D.C. area. His career with Space Labs led him to an
assignment in Seattle where he and Gail resided for 17 years. After retiring from Space Labs
they moved to Elk Grove to be close to and care for several elderly family members.
John and Gail were married for 48 years before her untimely passing from cancer at the age of
67.
In 2005 John was remarried to Liane Ofenham and they spent 16 years together prior to his
passing. Although the found each other late in life they where able to travel the world and enjoy
their retirement.
John is preceded in death by his wife Gail Ann, parents Sid and Mary, brother Sid and sister
Patricia. He is survived by his wife Liane, three children Scott and his wife Patty, Cindy and her
boyfriend Steve and Kathleen and her husband David, stepdaughter Julie and her family, 7
grandchildren Corey, Andy, Logan, Kyle, Jenna, Clayton, Deanna, 3 great grandchildren Ari,
Owen and future newborn Oliver as well as his brother David and Jerome and his sister
Rosemary.
The last years of his life required the assistance of care givers which he so loved and to which
his family is eternally grateful. Annie, Salome and Leti provided care and compassion that gave
him such a quality of life through his last days.
John was a role model to his peers, guidance counselor to his friends and family and a
generous, caring and loving person to anyone who new him. He will be greatly missed by all
and will now spend eternity with Gail in heaven.
