John Samuel Milhous

September 10, 1938 — August 13, 2023

Dad was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1938. The youngest of two children. Dad graduated from Grant Union Senior High as an all star pitcher scouted by the White Sox Baseball club. He chose instead to marry his high school sweetheart and had three children, two of whom he is survived by. He is survived by John Milhous and Mitch Milhous. He did amazing things in his lifetime. He was the youngest certified welder in California and Nevada. He built holding tanks out in the ocean. He raced motorcycles, built race cars and race boats. He was the cousin to President Richard Milhous Nixon, and famous baseball player Johnny Damon.  His father is considered a founding father of California, as well. 
  
Dad was a master mechanic, welder, electrician and Hydraulic specialist from the time he left Grant Union High School. He was also an Operating Engineer, like his father, who was Operating Engineer #1. The First. 
He retired from Herrmann Equipment as Shop Foreman, here in Sacramento. 
  
Dad is survived by his two sons, John Milhous, Mitch Milhous, as well as his 7 grandchildren, Jarad MIlhous, Brandon Milhous and Ethan Milhous, John Robert Milhous, Lauren Milhous, Benjamin Hall and Aaron Hall. He has 7 great grandchildren, Mckenna Milhous, Kinsley Milhous, Mason Milhous, Joseph Milhous and Jasmine Milhous, Harper Milhous and Colton Milhous. 
He is survived by his 4 Neices, Sally-Ann Phillips, Marie Bishop, Jessamyn Nordell, and Christine Sandman. 
He will be missed.
