John McLellan

The family of John J. McLellan is heartbroken to announce his passing on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at age 82. He was surrounded by his family and a room full of love.

John was born on February 10, 1941 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. He followed his parents to Philadelphia, PA in 1961 and joined the United States Air Force where he became an electrician and worked on B-52’s. The Air Force took him to Sacramento where he was stationed at Mather AFB. He attended Sacramento City College and Sac State and earned his Bachelor’s Degree. He also began what was to become a 34-year career at Campbell Soup Company. He retired in 1999 as an Area Manager.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Sherry; daughter, Mindy Corr, and son-in-law, Ed Corr; and the sunshine in his life, his granddaughters Emily and Sarah. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Jean Viegas, and brother-in-law, Bob Viegas, and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise McLellan; his three sisters Virginia Bussiere, Patricia McLellan and Janet Charnley; and nephew Stephen Bussiere.

A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m. at East Lawn Elk Grove, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95624.
