John Ira Haycox

May 22, 1931 — March 19, 2024

Roseville

On March 19, 2024, John Haycox  ended this leg of his life journey to join his wife, Kazuko, and son, David. The loss is indescribable. He was an amazing father, teaching us so many important life lessons and providing us the love and guidance to be successful adults. He was a dedicated patriot, loving this country and serving her well for 21 years in the Army, including two tours to Vietnam.  After retiring from active duty, he continued serving our community as an administrator for Sacramento City Unified School District until his final retirement in 1992. He was the patriarch of the Haycox family, providing love and guidance to his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was a loving, loyal husband to Kazuko, the love of his life and his wife of 66 years, until her death in 2020. His wits and sense of humor were with him until the end. The void he leaves behind in our lives can never be filled. John is survived by:  son Steve (Linda); daughter Sara (Robi); grandchildren Lisa (Adam), David and Gigi; siblings Carol, Mary, Jim; nieces Liz, Mary, Susan, and Jackie; nephews John and Archie.   "We will forever hear your voice and your words of wisdom. You will forever be in our hearts and minds."
